Woah, this is really cool. I guess out of all straw hats zoro’s past has always been the most unclear. Even before the revelation of Sanji as a Vinsmoke, Sanji already had more of a back story than zoro. And even after the Wako arc, zoro is still the one with the least of a back story. I guess this is also because Zoro that doesn’t need the readers sympathy.

I think it’s more like Zoro has a much larger story than most of the other crew. The story of almost everyone on the crew is “they hung around in one place for years and years until Luffy found them” when Luffy found Zoro, he already had a reputation as one the deadliest bounty hunter in the area.

Nami, Robin, Brook, Jimbe definitely don’t fit that description. OK, maybe Nami technically lived in the same place, but she was joining and tricking pirate crews since she was a child.

That’s true. I would def see a background of Nami. Robin kind of needs to be mysterious because the mystery of her whole deal drives the biggest overarching plot of the story. Brook’s background would be a good way to learn about the earlier history of the world and Jimbe would be a cool way to learn about Gol D Roger’s crew.
