I hadn’t heard of this series before, but just read the first chapter and I am in. I am a total sucker for these post-apocalypse stories (Heavenly Delusion, Star Tripper, A Story About a Droid, Erio and the Electric Doll, etc.). So, I definitely plan on catching up with this one.

It really feels like a less “final” Girls Last Tour to me - as in, despite all the devastation the world doesn’t feel as dead and unrecoverable. And just like GLT, it just makes me feel cozy (kinda ironic considering it’s post-apocalypse but hey).

Don’t know if I’d call it cozy, but I definitely get you.

Just read all of it, and it surprised with its tone, reminding me of BLAME (and GLT, too), but a much gentler version of it. The world is vast and often lonely, but so is it beautiful, filled with shades of the past and bittersweet meetings.

I’m really excited to read future chapters and see where the author takes the story long term (hoping it lasts long enough for that to be a thing). For the first few chapters, I assumed it would be very episodic and lacking continuity between the “arcs”.

Feels like these last few meetings might have changed that? …but it could also just be the case that I’m reading too deeply, and these two will soon split off, die, etc.

Anyway, I realize I’m repeating myself, but it gave me BLAME vibes without the depression, which I really appreciated.

To be clear, I didn’t mean it is cozy just that’s how this chapter (and some of the previous ones) made me feel. It might sound strange but I really got that feeling of comfort reading it. That said, we’re pretty much on the same page.

As for the siblings, I don’t really think this is a series that would kill them off. I realize there isn’t much to support this claim at the moment but I think what we’ve seen so far suggests a more optimistic story than that. I’d say them finding Usa and splitting up there is a more likely scenario.

It might also lead to those “new humans” (mutated kids, artificial person) being set up as the new future for humanity but that’s just me joining you in theorycrafting let’s leave this at that.
