Don’t Think, Just Jam
Well, power of love is hell of a multiplier.
Oh, nice to see some info on that. It’s on the top of my list for when I get back to buying physical copies.
Poor Stein, having to travel with strong handsome men taking him on adventures. What a cruel and unfair world.
At least all the warriors are together now, things are about to get spicy.
I hope to attempt my rewatch idea sometime in the first half of next year if everything goes right. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for months now but can’t really justify taking enough time to actually work on it. I’ll get there eventually.
As for the the reading one, I think it would be a good idea to start with something generic enough to cast a wide net and on the shorter side, as going in with a series right of the bat could scare off potential participants (especially since they don’t know what to expect engagement/discussion wise yet). I’d say start with a low commitment title to see how things go and then adjust based on that. I’d certainly like to give it a shot at least once if I’m available whenever that happens.
That’s exactly what happened to me and another community pretty much. Not mine but I did try to liven it up for a good while. Can’t people to interact and make a community if they don’t want to, I guess.
As fun as fediverse is in its current form is, it can still be a bit small in regards to the some topics and forms we want to engage about them in. Guess anime and manga communities were a good choices to start with. Still, a bit of luck never hurts.
(…) I was also surprised at how many people are active here in the manga community that don’t seem to be active in the anime community.
That’s me, I’m one of those not active on the anime side (even if I tried early on). In my case it comes to two things:
I’m still planning to join in from time to time whenever I have something to talk about and I’d like to suggest/run a rewatch or two in the future but that’ll have to wait for now. Need to sort out the boring IRL stuff first for that.
Anyway, thanks again to both you and @[email protected] for running the joint as well as admins for giving it a place to thrive in the first place.
So… where’s the cake?
I’m glad I stumbled into this community when I did. I used to post on the ml one (back when I still used an account on a now defunct kbin instance) but there was barely any interactions there so it felt like screaming into the void at times. That and there weren’t many people posting threads to begin with, which strengthened that feeling even further.
We’re still a pretty limited crowd (which is right up my alley) but there’s enough of us here to have some discussion and, just as important, find new stuff thanks to others. So thanks for bringing us a fun place to hang out and here’s to another successful year!
Onee-san is truly a worthy opponent.
Best case scenario prom might allow some other pairs to blossom. Might not be a complete waste…
It has been a while since I watched it so I’m not really sure how well it holds up but I remember 91 Days being pretty dope. It’s a mafia story about MC infiltrating a group responsible for the death of his family, set during the prohibition era in the US. It’s a short watch (12 episodes or so) too.
I’m going to need it. I’ve been on a break for a while and even thinking about going back to corporate environment drains any and all motivation to apply for anything. At least recruitment process isn’t as convoluted in my case…
It’s a lovely slice-of-life series in general. Really comfy too.
I’ve been pretty busy with job hunting lately so I can’t focus on reading as much as I’d like but I managed to catch up with The Moon on a Rainy Night and the new chapter of Berserk so that’s something. Not like my usual series update at the moment anyway… (。•́︿•̀。)
We can only hope this won’t become a regular thing for now, I guess.
On one hand it’s a decent way to show how Rinne changed since we first met her, on the other, this is the third character with an “unusual” health problem in a pretty small cast. While it’s not impossible, additions like this can easily lead to the character composition issue where suddenly all (or most) of the group are special/unique/whatever to a point where suspension of disbelief can be difficult (at least for me). Fiction has to make more sense and feel more “logical” than real life after all.
I’m curious how this goes.
That’s good to hear. I don’t expect it to go all grimdark all of a sudden, mostly just reacting to some familiar tones and where they might go - doesn’t make me any less interested in continuing though.
I didn’t spend much time reading last week but I would like to thank @[email protected] for mentioning The Moon on a Rainy Night in the last thread. While I’m not yet finished with all the currently available chapters, it has been a pretty engaging read so far and I can definitely see what you meant when describing it. It ventures into a very familiar territory and I kind of dread of what may or may not await me in the near future but I’ll keep going regardless - I’m too invested to bail now.
A’ight, I read through a few chapters and it was pretty fun so far. We’ll see how I feel when it gets more serious but I’m hooked.
You piqued my interest. While my situation is a bit different than yours, these feelings sound pretty familiar, though I’m not sure if reading this will make me feel better or worse… Imma just drop it on the backlog pile for now and worry about that later.
It’s a mark of a true professional.
