Space Brothers had the first 20 something volumes turned into a fantastic 99 episode anime, but in 2014, they caught up to the source material so stopped. It totally deserves a continuation, as there’s another ~20 manga volumes out now.

The upshot of watching stuff perpetually late is that I only had to wait 4 years for a sequel instead of 15.
Cyberpunk Edgrunners is the only one I’ve really binged lately. Started with an episode thinking I’d watch one and go to sleep, next thing I knew it was 6AM and I was crying while finishing it up.
I can’t believe it’s actually happening. Someone pinch me, it seems like a dream; I’m still waiting for someone to tell me I just imagined the whole thing.
It’s been a while, but I recall it kinda felt the gameplay oscillated between high stress and boredom. And the stressful parts I didn’t find fun, just stressful. They almost reminded me of Amnesia, and I’m not much of a horror game fan. Not sure if that makes sense.
Man, death stranding was the game I really really wanted to enjoy, but just couldn’t. I was enamoured with the aesthetic and story, but was frustrated by the gameplay so much.
I’d honestly love to see an anime in that world.
🥖 My dude is on a Teto rampage! 🥖 Rock on. 🥖
As someone who picked this up on a whim with no idea what I was getting in to, I have to say I’m very pleasantly surprised. The romantic premise is quite fresh, but what really made these first few episodes great was the setting. It made me feel a deep sense of nostalgia for a place I’ve never been.
I’m still waiting for “I Spent My Rich Dad’s Money to Absolutely Destroy My Gacha Competition, and I Have No Remorse”.
They certainly won’t get the full amount they’re going for, but the sellers’ Amazon accounts will be locked and any funds currently in there will be frozen and recovered, so it’s not like they’re getting nothing either.
Interesting. Did a tiny bit of digging, and it seems the defendants were mostly “fake” merch companies and drop shippers from the likes of Temu and Amazon, probably selling stuff like bootleg T-shirts, posters, body pillows, etc.
This is the answer. One of the best anime soundtracks ever.
Nice! I thought makeine did a pretty decent job of tying things up at the end of the first season, so I wasn’t even expecting a 2nd, and now this is a very nice surprise to me!
Man, the adoption of corporate “owned” copyright/trademarks as mascots of anticapitalist backlash just makes me happy.
Mine would have to be Natsume’s Book of Friends.
If I had to pick just one, which one would you suggest?
I kinda find modern isekai are very formulaic. If you just want some fan service and an OP power fantasy protag who doesn’t struggle at anything, then they look nice enough, but are still kinda trash.
I’d recommend watching some of the early ones when the genre wasn’t so well defined:
That poster is absolutely sick, but the trailer didn’t quite quite captivate me. I’m not sure I want that much magic battle in my sci-fi.
I’ll definitely keep an eye on this though.
Orb really deserves to be on this list. The opening is a banger, and the way it changes throughout the series is a really neat concept. Also how well it’s tied into several of the episodes is something you rarely see.
It’s definitely the most underrated anime of the past 2 seasons, along with its OP.
I’d keep going with GQuuux. This is my intro to the Gundam franchise as well, and there’s a lot of back story I’m missing, but if you can tough it out and just focus on Machu and Nyaan’s story, it’ll still be pretty worthwhile. (Disclaimer, I’m only up to ep 11)
