Grandma turning young again for real this time, the implications are interesting. How will they fix the ethereal hourglass? The foreshadowing was interesting and it seems like the episodes are starting to move an actual story.

Also the development between the Mino and Shouta was pretty strong this episode. They both seem to be very much interested in each other! And Shouta contemplating keeping the farm, his granddad busting out in tears, that was so sweet.

Another wholesome episode, can’t wait to see how next week plays out.

I got to ride on the Conan Super Hakuto train from Sannomiya (Kobe) to Osaka. It was such a cool experience, the train from top to bottom is retrofitted with a Conan-themed interior and a nice livery similar to the one in the picture there.

Conan is serialized, so a lot of the content has to be “filler” so to speak. Otherwise you wouldn’t know what’s going on if you’re watching in random order. There is some progression, like new character developments and plot points, but most of the series is just Conan and friends solve mystery with little emphasis on plot moving forward.

Demons in Frieren aren’t even Chaotic Evil, they’re just straight up True Evil. And why the author has a problem with it is completely subjective. From a narrative perspective, demons being True Evil is nothing new. In fact, the way Frieren depicts demons seems to be pretty close to how original demons have been depicted in literature. They don’t have feelings of their own, they only act upon impulse and they can’t truly emote, only shadow or mimic the emotions of actually emotional beings. All this with the goal of consuming someone or something.

There’s no trouble with the “inherently evil race” trope in this sense. Now, if Frieren were to make all the demons a specific color or make them talk in a specific way, then we start to teeter onto some troubling parallelism.

The first few episodes of season 1 the MC is a chuunibyou. Yamada slowly gets him to shift his mindset. The first few episodes are hard to watch because his personality is a bit unbearable at first.

I really didn’t expect Season 2 of Dangers In My Heart to be better than Season 1, because Season 1 was pretty solid. Season 2 has been amazing. It’s probably one of the more down to earth rom-coms I’ve seen, the first season really pushed the clueless MC but this season shows Kyotaro at least understands that his feelings are probably reciprocated.

If I woke up with an elf in my bed, I’m pretty sure I would react the same way.

Dangers in my heart is so good! Insomniacs After School season 1 is pretty slice of life-y, the start of the romance happens towards the end. Season 2 is definitely going to be more about the relationship between them
