Can’t wait to watch this. I missed out on the limited theatrical release. I wish it went to more theaters and had a longer run.
I don’t think there’s a wrong way to enjoy stories, some people are keen on the “lore” and backstory while others are more interested in the larger scale story or the relationships between characters.
That extends to authors too, some of them put more emphasis on different aspects of their story which may appeal more to certain readers/viewers than others.
Aren’t all the plot points you mentioned basically forgotten by the story itself in a few chapters? Once they start fighting devils and Denji meets all the other characters the plot becomes more about his relationships with those characters, and then about Makima’s plans.
I watched the first season, partly because some reviewers pointed out that it depicted the multiple relationships of the protagonist more like an actual polyamorous relationship than a typical harem anime. I would have to agree with this specifically in regard to the first half of the season when there are two or three girls involved with the protagonist. He actually goes out of his way to understand the needs of each partner and diffuse conflicts between the girls.
However, this dynamic breaks down fast when more girls are introduced, and the show rapidly devolves into a typical harem comedy, losing any aspect of realism or wholesomeness. Because of that I have no interest in the second season as I expect it to only get worse.
You’re right, I misremembered how old the characters were. I removed it from my post. I must have thought that because it dealt with a lot of mature themes and war kind of forces kids to grow up fast.
Black Lagoon is one of the most underrated shows. People who have seen it usually love it, but not enough people have seen it.
I need to watch Jin-Roh sometime.

My only point of disagreement with the article is I really like Man/Machine Interface. I know it’s kind of messy and not as clear with the plot and themes as some other entries, but the visuals alone make it worthwhile for me, it’s such a trip.
I read the manga a long time ago and I thought it was fun but it got so repetitive and formulaic that I got completely bored and stopped reading it like 8 volumes in IIRC. Will probably give this adaptation a try, maybe that aspect will be improved.
“Army of Insatiable Emptiness”
sounds like us who watched too much anime
I would take this as a joke except it’s Science Saru so basically guaranteed to be good
It might be time for a rewatch of what will soon be “season 1”. I liked PSG quite a bit when it came out. The animation is slick and creative, the soundtrack bumps and the humor is very irreverant. It was a pretty offensive and lizard-brained show but as far as I remember it was just kind of generally poking fun. I have a hard time picturing where they will take the new season though as the first one was kind of a hodgepodge with little direction.
🥳 More Yuru Camp!! ⛺
I guess we don’t know about the staff yet. If it’s made by the same staff as last season I’m optimistic about the quality. Season 3 was a step down in my book but it improved over the course of the season.
I hope we get more Aoi cycling and more Ema doing whatever she does
