I catched it since ep 1, but I won’t lie if I say I didn’t judge it by its title.
Too many isekai/fantasy coming out and most are just meh. And I was still on a high, because I just finished Clevatess and in immediate need of another one.
Fortunately, I decided to watch the trailer and give it a go. What a blast. Haven’t had that kind of enjoyment in a long time like that as I watch the pilot episode where obviously where most of the budget went.
It went above my head that Sentenced here mean criminal sentence, I just thought it’s the isekai God’s whims or whatever. What an interesting idea.
Did you read discussions around the series ? I think a thread mention Tatsuya >!finddling his finger in the air which they theorized to means he is interacting with a menu screen!< I haven’t had time to rewatch but if it’s true I think I never want to see >!a menu screen!< this bad before.
manga readers hyping it up similar to Frieren. I’ve heard lots of buzz for the show and it looks pretty nice.
I think the similarities is fantasy setting and we following a witch but that’s pretty much it.
WHA is immediately darker in tones from the get go. Also, pretty interesting magic system.
I personally curious whether or not they would/could adapt the crazy panel and line work arts the author somehow has time to draw each chapter.

I knew it haha. I already watching Journal with Witch since I love the manga so much. Grieve is such a strange feelings for me because I never experience a loss of immediate family, yet. Ofc I’ve lost pets/partner but I’m guessing a family member are a different beast altogether. In my mid 30s and dreading everyday cos my folks ain’t getting any younger.
Now if the rest of the season is like first two, I think they did a goos job. Just the inclusion of sound alone make the 1st episode better than the manga IMO.
“So that’s what Asa’s singing and how she sounds like”, I think this is the only series that make me yearn so much for adaptation, and quite surprise they did.
Didn’t know about Wonder Egg Priority, I’ll check it out but the subject matter probably too dark for me though.
