I haven’t been able too either, ~17 years later. I honestly feel like it gave me PTSD.
All the things the mother was doing was so relatable. Even though she seems to have been a professional ballet dancer, she has to work two part time jobs and sell her body to raise her kid.
As an aside: making sex work illegal (as it is in Japan) makes sex workers extremely vulnerable. They can’t solicit help from the police because they would be arrested. People know this and take advantage of it, as likely happened in this episode at least not directly.

I seen a suspicious white cargo van parked outside an elementary school near my house. Someone had spray painted “Free Anime’s” on the side, in an apparent attempt to lure children. I called the police but they said it was fine; it was just the local priest.

I’m really enjoying Lazarus rn, I think mostly because it’s a fresh take on Cowboy Bepop. It’s certainly not as good as CB, but the fight scenes and gun play are great.
Synopsis Confusion
At first I was a bit confused on how Hapna could kill everyone in a month, but it was later revealed that it’s not an exact date. Seems that the drug is never excreted, or at least partially stays in the body forever. Almost reminds me of how tylenol would never pass clinical trials these days because overdoses are so easy and deadly.
Also, Bonobo (
/watch?v=4Kc_U7mruec) made all the music for it, which is amazing as always.
