Oh god, I forgot about that plot point. Yeah, hopefully they sort that out quickly. That writing in anime is too cringy for me.

I’m ashamed to admit I watched this due to how ridiculous it sounded. In the end it was actually one of the better isekai I watched. In the first season they really never drift from the core concept that the main character is a vending machine and can only do vending machine related things.
It did feel like it should have reached a natural conclusion in season 1, but I could see a second season being okay if it’s used to wrap up the story (don’t know enough about the original to know how long it is).
I was equally confused. Didn’t really know it had “seasons”, felt like one piece where they just kinda keep pumping out episodes.
I mean, it was sooo obvious this show was going to be screwed from the start.
Netflix moves too slow producing things, many things in animation just don’t translate well to real life, there is just too much content to cover, etc.
Code Geass and Gurren Lagan were going to be my two recommendations. I think Code Geass is a more interesting story (although the end is hit or miss). Gurren Lagan though is juat a lot of fun (and not as serious as Gundam).
Oh I wasn’t aware it was an original series. While it’s definitely not a smart assumption, i generally just assume any popular anime was a magna first.
If you baseline is “How will our protag overcome this” then the classic is probably “Dragonball”, but basically any Shonen Jump series fits that bill (Bleach, Naruto, One Piece). However most of these are targeting younger audiences, with Bleach being the most “mature” of the ones I mentioned.
If you like the mystery element of Death Note, then Pyscho Pass could be an interesting one to look at.
Lastly, if you want a comedy inverse of “how will the protag overcome this”, One Punch Man is a great series. The author One also did a series Mob Pyscho that’s an action comedy.
Note: some of these I’ve read, while others I only watched the anime
Maybe as a first pass, but I don’t think the current approach to AI models can reliably translate things like this. There is a lot of nuance and details that will be lost in an approach using only AI and the quality would suffer.
Black Clover might be a good fit. It’s long and still making more episodes, but some of the fight scenes get pretty wild. I would say it’s a little slow to get started though.
Not the person you asked, but I watched it, then went back to watch the anime again, and it just feels so much better. While I think they did a good job of adapting it, I think some things just work better when animated. All of the crazy moves and characters just don’t translate well to live action.
I feel like it’ll be the same if not worse for mha. There are a lot of stylistic choices that I just don’t think will carry over well (I mean look what marvel had to do to all the superhero costumes to make them feel more “right”)
As with most AI/LLMs it’s about how much error you can tolerate.
Translating basic info, sure the user can infer any slight mess ups. Translating jokes, idoms, tone, cultural differences, etc. is hard assuming you even got the original text right.
