Pit two LN characters (doesn’t have to be protagonists but “Protagonist Deathmatch!” for the title has a certain je ne sais quoi) against each other and then discuss who would win.

The sun beat down on the arena, casting a golden glow over the two opponents standing facing each other. Ainz Ooal Gown, the powerful wizard from the world of Overlord, cracked his knuckles in anticipation. Across from him, Tanya Degurechaff, the young and ruthless mage from the world of Saga of Tanya the Evil, sneered with confidence.

The rules of the battle were simple: each opponent would take turns throwing Pokémon-style balls, known as “Summoning Orbs,” to call forth their subordinates. The goal was to defeat the other’s subordinates and emerge victorious.

Ainz, donning his signature black robe, grinned wickedly as he raised his hand. From his inventory, he pulled out a Summoning Orb and threw it with a swift motion. The orb exploded in a flash of light, and a figure materialized on the field.

“Pound-sama, take the field!” Ainz commanded.

A massive, golem-like creature with razor-sharp claws and teeth emerged from the light. It was Pound, one of Ainz’s most trusted guardians.

Tanya snorted in disdain. She pulled out her own Summoning Orb and threw it with a flick of her wrist. A burst of light heralded the arrival of her first subordinate.

    “I summon, Vera!”

A petite, elf-like girl with a sugary sweet smile and a sharp bow appeared on the field. Vera was one of Tanya’s most skilled and deadly mages.

The battle began, with Pound charging towards Vera with a roar. Vera dodged the attack with ease, firing an arrow imbued with magic at Pound’s face. Pound raised a hand, conjuring a barrier to deflect the attack.

Ainz chuckled, impressed by Vera’s skills. “Pound, use your Gravity Crush!”

Pound’s eyes glowed with an eerie blue light as he focused his magic. A localized gravity anomaly erupted around Vera, slowing her movements. Vera struggled to move, her body heavy with the increased gravity.

Tanya smirked. “Vera, use your acceleration magic!”

Vera gritted her teeth, conjuring a burst of speed that allowed her to momentarily escape the gravity’s effects. She fired another arrow, striking Pound in the shoulder. Pound stumbled, but his golem body allowed him to shrug off the wound.

The battle raged on, with both sides summoning more subordinates. Ainz called forth his beloved Shalltear, while Tanya summoned her trusted general, Marius.

As the fight intensified, it became clear that Ainz’s subordinates, though powerful, were no match for Tanya’s strategic mind and mastery of magic. Shalltear fell to Marius’s blade, while Pound was eventually worn down by Vera’s relentless barrage of arrows.

In the end, it was Ainz and Tanya facing off against each other. The wizard and the young mage circled each other, sizing up their opponent.

Tanya smirked. “You know, Ainz, I’ve studied your tactics. You’re quite predictable.”

Ainz raised an eyebrow. “Is that so? I think you’ll find I’m full of surprises.”

With a flick of his wrist, Ainz summoned his most powerful subordinate, the fearsome Cocytus.

Tanya’s eyes widened. “You think Cocytus can take me down? I summon, Captain Schoen!”

A burly, seasoned warrior with a powerful rifle appeared on the field. Captain Schoen charged towards Cocytus, firing a shot that the undead captain dodged with ease.

The two engaged in a fierce duel, their movements lightning-fast. Cocytus’s Frost Armor proved a match for Captain Schoen’s bullets, but the captain’s superior training allowed him to keep the undead warrior at bay.

Ainz’s eyes narrowed. This was not going as planned.

Tanya seized the opportunity to strike. With a wave of her hand, she conjured a massive explosion that sent Cocytus flying.

As the dust settled, Ainz and Tanya stood facing each other. The wizard’s eyes widened in shock – Cocytus, his most powerful subordinate, lay defeated.

Tanya sneered. “It’s over. I win.”

Ainz bowed graciously. “Congratulations, Tanya. You are a formidable opponent. I look forward to our next battle.”

With a smirk, Tanya turned to leave. “I’m sure our next meeting will be…enlightening.”
