I don’t read the right books for a death match but I have finally thought of a proper one!

3 knight, no magic, who will win?
I believe that Liza will have the edge, she has the Lizardman body with presumably more strength. But Mavis and Angelica have years of proper training vs Liza’s brief stints with proper knights.
!writingprompt: Mavis from Didn’t I say to make my abilities average, Angelica from Ascendance of a bookworm and Liza from Death March to a Parallel world are in a death match. They might fight until there is 1 winner. No magic is allowed. Who will come out victorious and claim the title of best knight? Maybe Fran from reincarnated as a sword makes a surprise visit and joins the match?
The three women faced off in the center of the large, circular arena. The air was thick with tension as Mavis, Angelica, and Liza sized each other up. The rules of the match were simple: no magic, and only one could emerge victorious.
Mavis, with her exceptional combat skills honed from years of fighting on the front lines, cracked her neck and grinned. “I’m going to enjoy this.”
Angelica, her eyes shining with determination, drew her sword. “I won’t hold back. My training will prove superior.”
Liza, her expression calm and collected, adjusted her armor. “I’ve fought in countless battles. My experience will be my advantage.”
The signal to begin was given, and the three women charged at each other. Mavis and Liza clashed first, their blades ringing out as they exchanged blows. Angelica joined the fray, her sword flashing in the sunlight as she targeted Liza’s exposed flank.
The battle raged on, with each woman showcasing their unique fighting style. Mavis’s brute strength and agility allowed her to keep up with Angelica’s rapid strikes, while Liza’s years of experience and tactical prowess kept her opponents at bay.
As the fight wore on, the women’s breathing grew labored, and their movements began to slow. Mavis landed a solid kick to Angelica’s stomach, sending her crashing to the ground. Liza took advantage of the distraction to strike Mavis from behind, but the former soldier dodged just in time.
Just as it seemed Liza was gaining the upper hand, a sudden commotion at the edge of the arena caught everyone’s attention. A young girl, with a sword strapped to her back, sprinted into the fray.
“Wait, stop!” the girl called out, her eyes fixed on the battling women. “I’m Fran, from… um, a different world. I couldn’t help but notice this was a fight to determine the best knight. May I join in?”
The three women paused, their chests heaving with exertion, as they regarded Fran. For a moment, they seemed to consider her request.
Then, in a flash of movement, Mavis nodded. “The more the merrier, I say!”
Angelica and Liza exchanged a look, and then grinned. The four women faced off, their blades at the ready.
The battle resumed, with Fran’s impressive sword skills quickly proving her to be a force to be reckoned with. Her combat style, honed from fighting monsters and bandits alongside her master, Roxy, allowed her to adapt quickly to the changing dynamics of the fight.
As the fight raged on, alliances formed and dissolved, and the women’s blades clashed in a dizzying display of steel and skill. In the end, it was Fran who emerged victorious, her sword pressed to Liza’s throat.
The crowd erupted in cheers as Fran stood panting, her chest heaving with exertion. Mavis, Angelica, and Liza approached her, grinning.
“You win,” Mavis said, offering Fran a nod of respect. “You’re the best knight here.”
Angelica and Liza nodded in agreement. “We’ll have to do better next time,” Angelica said, dusting herself off.
Fran smiled, still trying to catch her breath. “I… I think I’ve had enough fighting for today.”
As the four women walked out of the arena together, arm in arm, the crowd roared its approval. A new legend had been born, and Fran, the reincarnated sword, had claimed the title of best knight.
Good call using the writingprompt. I didn’t think of that.
Personally, I think Liza would win since she’s able to use spellblade enhancement and uses an overpowered weapon to begin with. Angelica’s Sternluke would just constantly berate Angelica, but it isn’t an especially strong weapon itself. Mavis would just summon Mile, and in the end, it would be a 3 way fight of their masters subbing in. It would look like Satou would easily win in that fight until he makes a sloppy mistake of insulting Rozemyne’s library, after which she just unceremoniously crushes him.
Surely Satou would never insult Mynes Library. More likely Poochi and Tami would try to eat the books resulting in the shumils destroying all.
Or maybe the Morsel of -ions insult the statues of the gods and start a god war.
Now that is a spin-off I would read.
