I have played the Eminence in Shadow mobile game since it launched, mainly for the story. They have made a big deal about how most of the story parts of the game were actually written by the LN author (basically everything except stuff like crossover/holiday events).

The story in the game has grown so extensive at this point that it is currently being adapted into a separate manga serialization. All this while the LNs have basically been on pause for 2 years with no announcement yet for a new volume.

The story itself has been good, but a much more serious tone than the rest of TEIS. That’s because it hardly features Cid at all, and is a much more straightforward dark fantasy that takes place during a 3-year time skip in the novels. I wish the game continued success so that I can keep reading the story, but I would also love some kind of update on the LNs.
