I made this post so that I could pick a fight / complain about @[email protected]

Why did you convince me to pick up TsukiMichi!

It was being released monthly but as soon as I start reading it they stop. Just as it got to a good part, hinting at something exciting in the next volume the publisher stops releasing and hasn’t mentioned the next volume yet!

      Mwahahaha! All according to keikaku…

      evil makoto

I had been waiting for a new volume of Eminence in Shadow for so long that I wanted somebody else to join me in my suffering. The irony being that there is a new TEIS slated for April now (in Japanese though), so my suffering has an end in sight.

In the same vein, where is the next Average Abilities and Death March? Neither has a set release date for the next volume!

As you can see in my weekly “what have you read” posts, I’m a fantasy reader. AND I FUCKING HATE IT when they use modern vernacular or words that just shouldn’t exist in that world. For example, in the last LN I’ve read, they baked some danishes. Are you telling me they have a country in that world that is also called Denmark, where they invented the same pastry? What an incredible coincidence.

And then there is something like this:

I hate modern meme-speak in a fantasy setting even more. If I were in a position where I had any say over this, I would immediately fire and blacklist any translator who does this on their first offense. No second chances, no nothing. Whoever put meme-speak into a fantasy novel is inherently incompatible with what I expect from a translation on a fundamental level. (This obviously only applies when the source isn’t using the same type of language. Meme-speak to Meme-speak is okay, I go beat up the author in that case.)

So I should cancel my bookworm rewrite?

Do not read unless you want to ruin your view on bookworm. (Part 4 light spoilers)

I hyped myself up and strutted over to the other tables. The Greater and Middle Duchies from ranks one to five were chill with Ehrenfest, so every hello wrapped up quick after dropping some blessings and exchanging a few polite vibes.

Then it was Ahrensbach the Sixth’s turn. Detlinde greeted us with a huge smile, looking just like Georgine—total doppelgänger vibes.

“Yo, Lady Detlinde, can we pray for some blessings over this totally epic meetup, set up by the real OG Ewigeliebe, God of Life?”

      “Absolutely!”

Once we finished with the blessings, Detlinde was all smiles. “I’m so stoked to finally meet you, Wilfried! You invited my mom to hit up Ehrenfest like two years ago, right? She was gonna bring me along, and I was hyped to meet you for real; us archduke kids don’t get many chances to vibe with family in other duchies, ya know?”

Her innocent smile and the way she called Wilfried by his first name made it hard to tell if she saw him as fam or if he was just a rival archduke wannabe.

“Totally bummed the visit got canceled 'cause of the drama with your family,” she continued. “I was like, devastated—we’re cousins and all. Let’s at least keep it friendly here at the Royal Academy!”

“Same vibe here,” Wilfried replied, serving up a polite smile.

Detlinde’s grin got even bigger. “Chill with the formalities! We’re fam now. Hit me up whenever you need; I’m a fourth-year and got loads of knowledge to drop.”

“We’re honored,” Wilfried and I echoed at the same time.

Original as a pallet cleanser (Part 4 light spoilers)

I pumped myself up and started approaching the other tables. The greater and middle duchies from ranks one through five were not on bad terms with Ehrenfest, so each greeting ended after the blessings and the exchange of a few polite words. Then it came time for Ahrensbach the Sixth. Detlinde welcomed us with a kind smile, looking exactly like Georgine. “Lady Detlinde, may we pray for a blessing in appreciation of this serendipitous meeting, ordained by the harsh judgment of Ewigeliebe the God of Life?” “You may.” Once the blessings were finished, Detlinde smiled. “I am delighted to finally meet you, Wilfried. You invited my mother to visit Ehrenfest two years ago, did you not? She was going to bring me with her. I was ever so excited to meet you for the first time; we children of archdukes are not afforded many opportunities to visit family in other duchies, are we?” she asked. The innocent smile on her face, plus the fact she was referring to Wilfried without any title, made it hard to tell whether she was treating him as close family or someone not even worth recognizing as a rival archduke candidate. “Of course, the visit was sadly canceled due to the attack on your family,” she continued. “I was devastated—we are cousins, after all. I pray that we can at least be friendly together here at the Royal Academy.” “I pray for the same,” Wilfried replied, a polite smile on his face. Detlinde’s own smile deepened. “No need to be so formal. We are family. You may rely on me whenever necessary; I am a fourth-year and know much that can help you.” “We are honored,” Wilfried and I replied together.

You are killing me, man. There is something called the “Geneva Conventions” and you broke them all. You deserve the downvote!

Yeah that’s fair, I read it and thought how many international laws and treaties is this breaking.

Then I thought this is fight club so I will see it through.
