It’s good to be back with the gang. It seems the events of the movie have really left a deep scar on Kazuma. I loved the opening dream of his (@[email protected]):
I have been reading the LNs recently and am partway through LN5 (the events depicted in the movie). The whole sequence here with the monster that acts like an injured girl happens while the gang is on their way to the Crimson Demon Clan in the LNs. I had enjoyed that sequence, so when I realized it was cut out of the movie I was sad I wouldn’t get to see it animated. However, it seems like they shifted it to after the Crimson Demon Clan arc instead.
Finally, I think that was the OP that the first episode ended with. I liked the song, but the animation really went hard during the OP. Lots of times where I would pause and flip through by frames to catch it all.
Sylvia is underappreciated
I loved Sylvia personally. Pretty much the only character to fully accept Kazuma, character flaws and all (maybe Eris being another one?). I really hope we get to see Sylvia in flashbacks occasionally like we have with Beldia (he even did the outro this episode).
Eris definitely qualifies here. Honestly, she might be my favourite character in the series along with Darkness.
Konosuba light novel volume 12
Darkness had so much potential to not be a gag character, and this would have been the volume to do it, but she does have her moments, as well.
Agree; it’s such a pity.
