Makio noticed that Asa is good at singing, and now I expect her to sing or hum a melody every upcoming episode. Otherwise I’ll be teeny tiny bit disappointed.

Both Nana and Shingo are a great addition to the cast. I hope to hear more of Nana’s laugh.

The way Asa always reacts to adults doing or saying something that is not very grown-up in her opinion is quite fascinating. I wonder if it’s just a child’s idea of an adult thing or her mother’s influence.

I would like to know what type of person her father was. Since the idea of what an adult is supposed to be is mostly informed by a child’s parents, I wonder if he was as straight-laced as her mother or if he was a counterbalance to her strict character. But looking at how stuepefied she is seeing Makio and Nana, I expect both her parents were very strict.

Probably both, but I reckon the latter part especially, given how Asa almost instantly recognized the pressure Makio was talking about.

Exceptional. I didn’t expect anything good for my taste this season apart from Frieren, but these 2 episodes so far make me think that this will be my AOTS.

I’m loving this. Despite the melancholic undertones, it’s so comfortable. The way the characters act, the way the story flows, the music, the visuals. So good.

You know that feeling when sometimes you watch something and nothing particularly remarkable has happened yet but you get the impression that you’re experiencing something special? I get that from watching this show. It’s just so good. My eyes are glued to the screen all the time.
And the conversations in this feel so natural. It’s so refreshing compared to what you usually see in anime. I hope this show delivers in the long run because it had a superb start.

I was mostly excited but a bit apprehensive looking forward to this, since the first episode drew me in so strongly that I have something of a stake in the series now. And happily, it delivered.

It’s very much slice of life, but it’s just done so well, and littered with neat little moments - happy moments and sad moments and enlightening moments and amusing moments and just… meaningful moments. And it does this fascinating trick in which some of the moments sneak up on me - they’re just going along, not seeming to be much of anything notably, and then suddenly some emotion or some realization smacks me in the face with its full weight, almost as if from out of nowhere.

And the story is continuing to unfold gracefully, with well-placed flashbacks and fantasy sequences, so the pacing is near-perfect, as we gradually learn more about who these people were, are and are going to become.

And the art and music and voice acting all continue to be excellent.

I’m impressed and satisfied, and looking forward to next week.
