Let’s show it how terrifying humanity can be.

So “humankind” (the Japanese word used was 人類) include elves as well?

I guess Earth language has not evolved to the point of having one collective word for human and elves (and other non-demon folks)?

I’m certain that blood lust comment (nearly mistaking Genau for a demon) will turn out to be exposition for something… I just don’t know what exactly, yet

I interpreted that as just him being really mad internally but not really showing it externally, he appears all calm and distant but inside he’s raring to kill the demon that destroyed his hometown and killed his friends. He let some of that rage leak thinking the demons came back and Frieren picked up on it.

Is there any explanation in the manga as why the demons dissolve when you kill them?

It’s seen as the one species in this world that does that and makes me think they are not part of the environment, like they are an invasive force.

Not an explanation per se, but all monsters do it in Frieren’s world, not just demons. You’ll notice that when they kill normal, non-speech-having monsters, they dissolve away as well.

I haven’t read or watched this, I just like reading comments and stuff, but now I gotta know. Is the world vegan then? Cause would like, cows just disappear instead of any butchery? There goes a lot of fertilizer as well! The implications!!

Monsters aren’t animals. They’re not part of the fauna category, and are instead their own category. So it’s a 4th addition to your usual flora, fauna and funga categories. Demons belong to the monster category.

    This episode took its time.

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Freiren and Fern go invisible to sneak up on someone, how ineffective it was, and they were lucky not to find themselves against a dangerous enemy.

Even stranger was them not recognizing Genau and Methode, although I suppose it’s been a much longer time in their world than ours.

War is hell hard bread eating sounds

It’s been a long wait but we’re finally reached episode 6. As finale of season 2 is coming closer and closer tension is also increasing. This episode was so unsettling! Only sounds of terrible bread and warm personality of Methode would keep me sane is such environment.

Another village will become ruin with painful past.

Seeing this burning white-red flag at the start of episode got me thinking, isn’t this place just medieval Poland? Architecture and landscape looks very similar. So far most names were German so I’d assume we’re going to see more medieval inspirations from many different countries.

    Also, highlight of today’s episode:
