    I actually kinda like the manga and after seeing the trailer being the usual GoHands bullshit, I don’t think I can bring myself to watch this.

    Can you imagine you are a light novel author and your editor tells you you finally get a anime adaptation. And then he tells you it will be handled by GoHands. That’s nightmare fuel.

    Is this AI? It is so overly detailed at times it is distracting. And all those weird angle panning shots are uncalled for, IMHO.
    Still, sounds like it could be a decent story (Raise of the shield hero like).

      The story is fairly decent, at least in the manga. But I do agree with you the adaptation is a bit too over-detailed; the “camera rainbows” are completely unnecessary, I’m almost sure the city was modelled in 3D, that guy Elymas protected from the raana behaving a bit too hammy… they also made Elymas look less like a tank, and more like a scrawny boy (in comparison with the manga).

        I don’t get why anime studios almost never try to keep the art style of the source manga. There’s been so many times that a manga with a unique artstyle with an anime that looks completely different, usually bland af

          It used to be more common to keep the source style. My guess is that it’s 25% what’s easiest to draw and 75% branding (that is, whether non-Japanese exec-suite types can tell that it’s anime).
