At least in Kozue’s case towards Hiro
I do like how we are slowly building out our cast of other characters. However, I feel like the plot has mostly stalled? Like, we haven’t seen any kind of mention of his terminal illness since episode 1. I was hoping that we would see more of him processing his impending death and the emotions that that would bring.
I’m holding a verdict on that until later episodes. Hiro has a lot of new experiences in a short period of time, so it’s believable he largely forgot he has a few years to live. I don’t think he told his new friends yet, and I feel the show will hit you like truck-kun once he catches up to the fact.
