1·13 days agoI subscribe to CoF, too. Nowhere near as bad as TAE with the gambling posts, fortunately.
I notice on the TAE website itself, those posts are buried down the bottom in a distinct “News & Misc” section. I might have to manually remember to go look at the website, as the feed is just too spammy now.

1·14 days agoIt may be the last I post from The Action Elite. :/
I had subscribed to their RSS feed. Unfortunately, it often included spam posts for online marketing, gambling, roofers in Toronto etc. Even articles that seemed like they were about action movies but were really a pretext to include some affiliate link. But a level I could just about bear.
But today it had such a flood of posts for online casinos (like 20 per real article) I finally “rage unsubscribed” from TAE.

2·18 days agoYou’re right! (And My Drama List has yet another English title, Dragon’s Teeth.)
The original Chinese title could be translated as Sons of Shaolin but I don’t think the name of that monastery had as much mind share in the English-speaking world back in 1974 as it does today. (And many wouldn’t have even known how to pronounce it. Even in the 90s, at the height of the Wu Tang Clan’s fame, I heard people saying it “Shay-oh-lin”.)
I think the person who came up this specific title was British and having a bit of fun with it, punning on the title of a then-popular, long-running radio sitcom on the BBC called The Men from the Ministry.

2·1 month agoYeah, definitely a cut above what I was expecting from a late-stage Lundgren flick.
The budget was less than $1 million
Holy mole! Definitely punched above its weight!

Unfortunately, I’m unlikely to be in LA any time soon but will be sure to check out the New Bev when I get there.

1·1 month agoIt seems Sammo just didn’t want the dawn-to-dusk work schedule and lack of control that came with a US network series.

Fantastic scene, rewatched Wheels on Meals just the other month and it’s still a jaw-dropping fight!
