Gainax still existed? I thought they had closed down years ago.
Their core talent left and formed Trigger a while ago.
And Hideaki Anno formed studio Khara, which has been financially supporting Gainax, and is a major creditor.
Khara (and Anno) has now acquired the Gainax trademark and serves as the manager of the trademark.
I was surprised too

You couldn’t ask for the Gainax IP’s to be in better hands than the most accomplished of Gainax’s founders.
I thought they sold years ago.
Because some of their animes switched studios a while back.
I swore they always had funding issues. I know they went on the last 2 episodes of NGE because of budgeting

That’s fine, I will leave both up. I would normally have taken this one down pretty promptly, but I have had to spend a lot of time in a cleanroom today for work, so I wasn’t able to use my phone to keep tabs on things.
